Dear Tess:

I have carefully considered your appeal for a Aegrotat Standing in DEVS 220 (F21). After reviewing your file and the information that I received from your instructor, I have decided to deny your request.

Regulation 10.3.1. states that, Aegrotat estimated standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed and passed at least 60% of the work for a course, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond his or her control, is unable to complete all the work of the course (see Academic Regulation 6)?. The information that I received from your instructor indicates that you did not complete 60% of the work in this course and that you did not meet the learning outcomes based on the components that were completed. Therefore, you are not eligible for this academic appeal option.

I understand that this is a disappointing decision, but I am willing to allow you to drop DEVS 220 (F21) after the academic deadline based on the circumstances outlined and the documentation that you have provided that confirms the timeline of impact. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.
