Course: GPHY 415
Term: Fall/Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Course: GPHY 254
Term: Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear E Jane Ford:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GPHY 415 (FW 2020/2021) and GPHY 254 (W21) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this request based on the timeline and severity of your extenuating circumstances during the 2021 Winter term. Going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your extenuating circumstances on your courses before the drop deadline of each term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop it before the deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.
I also suggest that you consider registering with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you haven??t done so already, so that you can work with an Advisor to help manage the impact of your health on your academics.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
