Year: 2022
Category: Request aegrotat (AG) standing in a course or courses
Instructor: Ayca Tomac

Dear Ayden:

I was sorry to read of the health-related challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal, and I have reviewed your request to change the grade you received in DEVS 392 (S 2022) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of your appeal package, I have decided to grant your request.

The instructor has submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed in DEVS 392 and the grade in this course will appear on your transcript as A- along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

I encourage you to continue to seek support from your health care team to help you manage your health. I also suggest that you carefully evaluate your progress in your courses and the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term. If you find that your health is impacting your progress in your courses, you should drop courses by the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Ayden, I see that you are not registered in courses during the Fall term, and I commend you for taking time to focus on your health and wellness.

We will look forward to your return to your studies when you are able to do so.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
