Dear Charles,

I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the challenges you experienced during Winter term 2022 and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in ECON 222 to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the circumstances outlined and the documentation submitted as well as the information supplied by the instructor about the learning outcomes achieved in this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grade in ECON 222 will appear on your transcript as CR.

Charles, if you continue to take courses at Queen??s, you will be responsible for managing the impact of your condition on your academics proactively and not after the fact via the appeal process. I encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to week 7 and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Here is the link for information about that process:

Best of luck in your future endeavours.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
