Dear Youxi:
I was sorry to read the challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal and I have carefully considered your appeal to extend the Incomplete Grades in ECON 452, ECON 232 and ECON 437 (F 2020). After reviewing your file I have decided the following:
1. I will grant your request to extend the IN grade in ECON 437. The instructor of this course is willing to accept your final assignment. Please contact Professor Kashi to make the appropriate arrangements regarding the new and final submission date for that assignment, which must be completed by December 31, 2022 at the latest.
2. I must deny your request to extend the Incomplete grades in ECON 452 and ECON 232. Both of these instructors are no longer at Queen??s and therefore unable to accept outstanding course requirements. I am however willing to drop ECON 452 late and offer you Credit standing in ECON 232 based on your documented extenuating circumstances. If you wish to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this decision letter and we will make the appropriate adjustments on your transcript.
Going forward, I strongly suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind in your course work, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances.
