Dear Kairos,

I am sorry to have read in your petition letter the challenges you experienced during Fall term 2022 and I have reviewed your request to change the grades you received in BIOL 212, BIOL 339, BIOL 350 and BIOL 440 (F 2022) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the circumstances outlined and the documentation submitted, as well as the information supplied by the instructors about the learning outcomes achieved in these courses, I have decided to grant your petition.

Your grades in BIOL 212, BIOL 339, BIOL 350 and BIOL 440 (F 2022) will appear on your transcript as CR.

Kairos, it does appear that you will be graduating with your undergraduate degree this year, but if you take additional courses at Queen??s, I suggest that you carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to week 7 and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline.

Another tool to help students manage their academics, in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline, is our Academic Consideration protocol. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Here is the link for information about that process:

Best of luck with your future, and congratulations on the completion of your degree.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
