Dear Jackson Ain,

I have reviewed your petition to drop CLST 131, ECON 112 and SPAN 112 (W23) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

For your information: our office will process the late drops in your SOLUS account and no further action from you is required. Once dropped, the courses will appear as ??withdrawn? in your schedule and a ??DR? notation will be placed on your transcript once the Winter term grades are released in May.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and severity of your circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Going forward, it is suggested to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on your classes during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Please know that I am also willing to allow you to drop ENGL 100 and POLS 110 (FW22/23) due to the timeline of your estimated recovery. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within 15 business days of receiving this letter.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
