I have carefully considered your petition to drop COGS 100 (W23) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I want you to know that this was a lenient decision as your petition request did not contain documentation to suggest that you were impacted by an extenuating circumstance. I acknowledge that this is your first year at University and I have granted this request as you were not aware of the academic drop deadline until recently. Going forward, it is your responsibility to assess your progress in your courses by week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
