Course: CLST 150
Term: Winter
Year: 2022
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Ben Gotlib,

I have reviewed your petition to drop CLST 150 and CLST 334 (W22) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grades in these classes will be replaced with a ?DR?? notation on your transcript.

I want you to know that this was a lenient decision as the documentation that you supplied dated February 9th suggests that your health issues worsened in June of 2022, after the 2022 Winter term had ended. I have granted this request as I see that you have taken the 2022/2023 academic year away from your studies. Upon your return to Queen??s, it is your responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on your classes during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
