Student Name: Stephen He
Student Email: 21sh119@queensu.ca
Course: Math110
Term: Fall/Winter
Year: 2022
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Stephen:
I am sorry to have read of the robbery that you recently experienced in your residence room, and I have carefully considered your request to drop MATH 110 (FW 2022/23) past the academic deadline due to that circumstance. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request since the robbery took place only a couple of days prior to your final exam and that this circumstance may have impacted your ability to successfully complete that exam.
For your information, our office will process the late drop in your SOLUS account and no further action from you is required. Once dropped, the course will appear as ??withdrawn? in your schedule and a ??DR? notation will be placed on your transcript once the Winter term grades are released in May.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop deadline or via the petition process is our Academic Consideration protocol. As you know, a student can request consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class due to documented extenuating circumstances. Here is the link for information about that process:

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
