Dear Ayush:

I was sorry to have read in your petition letter of the circumstances you outlined, and I have carefully considered your request to drop CHEM 112, MATH 121, PSYC 100, SOCY 122 (FW 2022/23) and HLTH 101 (W 2023) after the academic deadline. Based on the circumstances outlined and your documentation, I will grant your request to drop the above noted courses past the academic deadline.

I am also willing to grant you Credit standing in ASTR 101 (F 2022). Credit standing would give you credit in the course, but the current grade of D would be replaced with a CR notation on your transcript so there would be no reflection in your GPA of that lower grade. If you wish to accept this offer of CR in ASTR 101, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within the next 15 business days.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your future endeavours.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
