Dear Andrew Hogarth:

I have carefully considered your petition request to drop DEVS 100, ECON 110, POLS 110 and PSYC 100 (FW21/22) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request which will also remove Faculty ruling that you be Required to Withdraw for One Year.?

I have granted this petition based on the timeline, severity and academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed by the documentation that you supplied. Upon your return to studies, I suggest that you evaluate your academic progress during week 7 of the term and make sure to drop courses that you have fallen behind in or find the material too difficult in by week 8 of the term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I also suggest that you consider registering with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) so that you can work with a counsellor to help you manage the impact of your health on your academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
