I have also decided to allow you drop HIST 246, HIST 295, PHIL 273 (F21), HIST 215, HIST 223, HIST 227, HIST 299 (W22) and HIST 301 (FW21/22) after the academic deadline. I have granted this request due to the timeline and severity of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed by the documentation that you supplied. Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a ?DR?? notation on your transcript. These late drops will remove the probation notation on your transcript from May of 2022.
Going forward you should know that it is the student??s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
I also suggest that you consider registering for Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you haven??t done so already, so that you can work with an advisor to help manage the impacts of your health on your academics.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
