Dear Noah:
I was sorry to read of the confusion you had with regards to your registration in ENIN 140 (S 2021), and I have carefully considered your request to waive the one-year petition deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant that request and to drop ENIN 140 (S 2021) late due to the circumstances outlined. The grade in that course will be changed to a DR notation on your transcript.
As you may know, I have granted this petition based on the challenges you outlined as well as your documentation, but let me remind you that going forward if you continue to work towards the completion of your Certificate, you should pause and evaluate your course registrations and progress in your courses prior to the drop deadlines. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students at Queen's.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
