Course: LLCU 102
Term: Winter
Year: 2023
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Amitis:

I have read your petition letter where you indicate that you believed you were not registered in LLCU 102 (W 2023) and I have carefully considered your request to drop that course past the academic deadline. After reviewing your petition, I have decided to grant your request.

I have exercised some leniency in this decision, since our records show that you registered for this course on SOLUS on July 19, 2022 and that you did not subsequently drop that course. FYI, dropping LLCU 101 did not mean that LLCU 102 was automatically dropped, and it was your responsibility to drop that course if you no longer wished to take it.

Going forward, I recommend that you pause and review your course registrations on SOLUS during week 7 of each term and drop courses that you no longer wish to complete by the week 8 drop deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students at Queen's.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
