I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ECON 280, COMM 251 (F 2014), ECON 351 and ECON 243 (W 2015) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I would also be willing to allow you to drop ECON 222 (F 2014), ECON 212 and ECON 222 (W 2015) past the academic deadline as well. I understand that you plan on repeating these courses but the F will remain on your transcript. If you would like to change the grades to a DR, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this decision letter to confirm and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.
As a result of this decision we have reassessed your student record and because your GPA is now above 1.60, the Academic Probation ruling has been removed from your transcript. You currently remain in good academic standing but your GPA is below 1.90. A minimum GPA of 1.90 is required to graduate with an Honours degree.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page.
