I have carefully considered your appeal for Aegrotat Standing in RELS 393 (F22). After reviewing your file, I have decided to deny your request.
As you know, Academic Appeal and Petition Regulation 3.3.1.3. states that, " Aegrotat standing is reserved for a course in which a student who, because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, is unable to complete all the work of the class…A student with extenuating circumstances who may be able to complete the remaining work in a class should consider a petition to extend the deadline to submit incomplete work or complete a deferred exam instead.”
I acknowledge the documentation that you supplied that suggests academic impacts of extenuating circumstances in some of your Winter term courses however your petition didn’t demonstrate that you were unable to complete this course through an Extension of an Incomplete Grade. I see that you currently have an Incomplete Grade from a Winter term course and that you are enrolled in 3.0 units during the Summer term.
I am sympathetic to your situation and I understand that this is a disappointing decision however, I will allow you to complete RELS 393 (F22) during the 2023 Summer term and your instructor is available to accept the outstanding components before August 15, 2023 at the latest. If you would like to accept this offer, it is your responsibility to connect with your instructor directly to make the arrangements.
