Dear Azhar:

I have carefully considered your petition for Credit Standing in ANAT 215 (F22), CHEM 222, BIOL 200 and BIOL 206 (W23). After reviewing your file and the information that I received from your instructors, I have decided to grant your petition.

Your grades in these classes will be changed to a “CR” notation on your transcript.

I have granted this request as the documentation that you supplied confirms the severity and academic impacts of your unaccommodated extenuating circumstances since October of 2022.

I want to remind you that it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Going forward, I would suggest that you consider registering with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you have not done so already, so that you obtain ongoing support from a Counsellor who can help manage the impact of your health on your academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
