I have reviewed your petition to drop WRIT 250 (F22) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grade in this course will be replaced with a ‘DR’ notation on your transcript.

I acknowledge that you had taken the subsequent term away from your studies and I have granted this request due to the academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed by the documentation you supplied. Going forward, it is your responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on your classes during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I also suggest that you consider registering for Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you haven’t done so already, so that you can work with an advisor to help manage the impacts of your health on your academics.
