Dear Mike:
I have carefully considered your request to transfer more than 6.0 units of courses away from Queen’s on a Letter of Permission from the 2022/2023 academic year. After reviewing your file and the support that you supplied from your Department, I have decided to grant your request.
As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that “[normally] the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s”. I acknowledge that you were approved a Letter of Permission for 6.0 units of HIST courses from York University during the 2022 Fall term and I will allow you to transfer an additional 6.0 units from that 2022/2023 academic year through a retroactive Letter of Permission. Please know that this is an extraordinary offer as students should not be enrolling in courses at another institution without receiving the proper permission from the Faculty of Arts and Science.
You may now apply for a retroactive Letter of Permission through SOLUS.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
Finally, please be advised that you are allowed to complete a maximum of 57.0 transfer units toward your BA Honours degree (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3) including a maximum of 24.0 units toward your Major in History.
