I have reviewed your request to drop MATH 225 (S23) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Your grade in this course will be replaced with a ‘DR’ notation on your transcript.

I want you to know that this was a lenient decision as you were enrolled in this course after the academic deadline through a prior petition request. Instructors are not obligated to accommodate a student due to late enrollment and it is my understanding that the instructor of MATH 225 graciously offered you accommodations through the term by allowing you multiple deadline extensions.

Going forward, you should know that it is the student’s responsibility to proactively pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course.
