Dear Jogi:

I was sorry to read that you experienced health-related challenges during the 2022/23 academic year and I have carefully considered your petition to extend your INcomplete grades in MATH 121 (FW 2022/23 and BIOL 103 (W 2023) as well as drop PHYS 115 (F 2022) and PHYS 116 (W 2023) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Please note the final date to complete the MATH 121 and BIOL 103 course requirements is December 31, 2023.

I noted when reviewing your petition, the number of Consideration requests you have submitted and caution you that you need to manage deadlines and not continue to submit consideration requests as it appears the number of requests you have submitted may not be an appropriate use of this system, particularly the repeated 3-day requests. Instead, you should pause and evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the week 8 drop deadline each term, and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in courses to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Jogi, I strongly encourage you to continue to work with your health care team to help you manage the impact of your health on your academics.  I also suggest you meet with an Academic Advisor who may be able to offer suggestions about the successful completion of your degree.

Best of luck in your studies this year.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
