I have reviewed your request to waive the petition deadline related to the 2020 Fall term. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I will also allow you to drop STAT 263 (F20) after the academic deadline without having to submit a subsequent petition.

Your grade in this course will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript. Please know that a student cannot petition to remove this notation.

I have granted your request as the documentation that you supplied attests to an unaccommodated disability and confirms the academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as described in your petition letter.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
