Dear Dayna Davidson,
I have reviewed your request to waive the petition deadline related to the 2022 Fall term, to drop ENGL 200 (FW22/23), HIST 275, HIST 299 (W22), DEVS 220, HIST 252, and HIST 260 (S23) after the academic deadline, and for Credit Standing in ENGL 162 (W23). After reviewing your file and the information that I have received from the instructor of ENGL 162 (W23), I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this request due to the timeline and academic impacts of your extenuating circumstances as confirmed by the documentation that you supplied.
I will also allow you to drop ARTH 250 (F22) after the academic deadline without having to submit a subsequent petition request. Your grade in this course will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.
Dayna, I recognize that you mentioned in your petition letter wanting to submit a subsequent request asking for Credit Standing in a 2022 Fall term course. Please know that to be eligible for this type of request, you must have completed all components in the course and met the learning outcomes in it. If you are concerned with the impact that this course has on your GPA, I would suggest that you consider repeating it in a future term. When repeating the exact same course code, both attempts will appear on your transcript however, only the higher grade will be included within the calculation of your cumulative GPA.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
