Dear Tessa Albert:
I have carefully considered your petition to drop MUTH 110 (F23), PSYC 203 and PSYC 221 (W24) after the academic deadline and for Credit Standing in PSYC 202, MUSC 171, PSYC 271 (F23) and PHAR 100 (W24). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR and CR notation on your transcript accordingly.
I have granted this request due to the academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Going forward, I would suggest that you consider registering with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you have not done so already, so that you obtain ongoing support from an Accessibility Advisor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.
Also, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
