I have carefully considered your petition for a course change from BCHM 310 (FW23/24) to BCHM 315 (F23) and BCHM 316 (W24). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this request due to the timeline, severity and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances during the W24 term as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied.
The instructor of BCHM 315 (F23) has submitted a final grade of B which will appear on your transcript. The instructor of BCHM 316 (W24) has submitted a final grade of D+ however, as the documentation that you supplied confirms the impacts of extenuating circumstances during the timeline of February until April, I am willing to allow you Credit Standing in this course instead. A CR notation will appear on your transcript in place of the D+ grade for BCHM 316 (W24).
Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
