Dear Robyn,
I have carefully considered your petition for Aegrotat Standing in ENGL 100, PSYC 100 (FW23/24), CLST 150 and MUTH 111 (W24). After reviewing your file, I have decided the following:
To grant your request for Aegrotat Standing in ENGL 100 (FW23/24) due to the timeline and severity of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. I acknowledge that you couldn’t complete this course through an Incomplete Grade during the 2024 Summer term due to the ongoing impacts of your extenuating circumstances and your instructor has submitted a replacement grade of a B- based on the work that you had completed in this course.
To deny your request for Aegrotat Standing in PSYC 100 (FW23/24), MUTH 111 and CLST 150 (W24) as you are not eligible for an estimated grade in these classes based on the work that you had completed in them. Academic Appeal and Petition Regulation 3.3.1.3. states that, "Aegrotat standing is reserved for a course in which a student who, because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond their control, is unable to complete all the work of the class. At least 60 per cent of the work to be evaluated in the class (assignments, midterms, laboratories, final examination, as specified in the class syllabus) must be completed.”
The instructor of PSYC 100 (FW23/24) has confirmed that the learning outcomes are measured from the final exam they are willing to allow you an opportunity for a deferred exam during the current 2024 Fall term. Please connect with Undergraduate Chair Meghan Norris if you would like to accept this offer. Alternately, if you would like to drop PSYC 100 (FW23/24) after the academic deadline, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within 10 business days of receiving this decision letter.
The instructor of CLST 150 (W24) has confirmed that there are 4 tests outstanding in their course and they are willing to allow you an opportunity to complete them during the current 2024 Fall term. Please connect with Instructor Colivicchi to make these arrangements to complete the work prior to December 31, 2024.
The instructor of MUTH 111 (W24) has confirmed that you have not met the learning outcomes based on the work that you completed in this class however, they are willing to allow you an opportunity to complete the outstanding final paper and final exam during the 2024 Fall term. Please connect with Instructor Pegley to make these arrangements to complete the work prior to December 31, 2024.
