Course: LAW 201
Term: Summer
Year: 2024
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Anais:

I was sorry to read about the passing of your family members and I want to offer my condolences. I have carefully considered your petition to drop LAW 201 (S24) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I acknowledge that you were able to complete your other enrolled S24 course through an Incomplete Grade with the support of your instructor and I have granted your request to drop LAW 201 due to the timeline and academic impacts of your health-related extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied dated July 8. Your grade in this course will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes during week 7 of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
