Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Liam Boland
Student Email: liamwboland0@gmail.com
Course: MATH121
Term: Summer
Year: 2024
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Liam:
I have carefully considered your petition to drop MATH 121 (S24) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I acknowledge that you submitted an online request to drop MATH 121 during the Summer term however, I want to remind you that the Faculty of Arts and Science was unable to process this request as the drop deadline had not yet passed. It is my understanding that you were provided with instructions on how to drop this course through your SOLUS account so that you could receive a partial tuition refund at that time.
Liam, I have granted this petition request as the Arts and Science Online office has confirmed that you did participate in MATH 121 at all during the Summer term. Going forward, you should make every effort to check your schedule in SOLUS as well as to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the "Important Dates" section on the Arts and Science web website and to ensure that courses that you do not intend to complete are dropped on SOLUS successfully before the posted drop deadline.
Also, please know that tuition-related fee appeals are handled by the Registrar’s Office. You can submit a request using this form queensu.ca/registrar/sites/uregwww/files/uploaded_files/pdfs/Tuition_Fee_Amendment_Appeal_Form.pdf
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
