Dear Zach:

I have carefully considered your petition to drop CISC 203, CISC 220, CISC 221, and CISC 223 (W24) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this request due to the academic impacts of extenuating circumstances and the need for accommodation as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. I will also allow you to drop CISC 221, CISC 223 (W23), CISC 203, CISC 221, and CISC 223 (F23) after the academic deadline as I recognize that these courses were also impacted these circumstances.

Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Going forward, I would suggest that you register with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you haven’t done so already, so that you obtain ongoing support from your Accessibility Advisor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.

Also, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
