I have carefully considered your petition to waive the petition deadline related to the 2021 Fall term and to drop CLST 131, ENGL 104, LLCU 200 (F23), CWRI 272, ENGL 273, and FILM 220 (W24) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. I will also allow you to drop GNDS 212, GNDS 335, LLCU 214, LLCU 320 (F21) after the academic deadline without having to submit a subsequent petition request.

Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
