Thank you for your request to drop ENGL 356 (FW22/23), ENGL 237, ENGL 215 (S23), GNDS 311, ENGL 497 (F23), GNDS 315, ENGL 451 (W24) after the academic deadline and for Credit Standing in ENGL 441 (W24). I have carefully reviewed your petition and the supporting documentation that you supplied, and while I’m unable to grant all of these requests, I want to assure you that I’ve taken your circumstances into account as part of this decision.

I will grant your requests to drop ENGL 356 (FW22/23), ENGL 237, ENGL 215 (S23), GNDS 311, ENGL 497 (F23), GNDS 315, ENGL 451 (W24) after the academic deadline due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Regarding your request for Credit Standing in ENGL 441 (W24), according to the Academic Appeal and Petition Regulation 3.3.1.4. Credit standing is reserved for a course in which a student has completed all of the work of the class. After consulting with the instructor of this course, it was found that you did not complete all of the components of the course making you ineligible for Credit Standing in this case. The instructor let me know that you did not complete the minor reaction assignments, the onQ post assignments and that you didn’t attend most of the classes. If you are concerned with the impact that this course has on your GPA, I would suggest that you consider repeating it in a future term. When repeating the exact same course code, both attempts will appear on your transcript however, only the higher grade will be included within the calculation of your cumulative GPA.
