I have carefully considered your petition to drop DEVS 101 (F24) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation that you supplied. Your grade in this course will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Em, I will also allow you to drop POLS 111 (F24) after the academic deadline as I recognize that your academic ability in this course was also impacted by extenuating circumstances. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within 15 business days of receiving this letter.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline.
