Appeal Number: 1341
Decision Date: August 7, 2015
Associate Dean: Sue Blake
Student Name: Andrew Lantz
Student Email: 13al25@queensu.ca

Dear Mr. Lantz:

I have carefully considered your appeal to drop HIST 201 (F 2014), ENGL 200B, ENGL 278, ENGL 290 and ENGL 292B (W 2015) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

When you resume your studies in the fall, please ensure that you continue to monitor your health and your workload very carefully and seek assistance through the Faculty Office at the first signs of any difficulty. You are expected to gauge your progress in courses and make academic decisions prior to the drop deadlines. If you need some help with these decisions, please schedule an appointment to see an academic advisor (well in advance of the drop deadlines) and the advisor will review all of your options with you.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in Important Dates Section on the Arts and Science web page. These deadlines have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students and to facilitate the timely completion of university studies at Queen's.

Yours sincerely,

Sue Blake
Assistant Dean (Studies)
