I have carefully considered your petition to waive the deadline related to the 2021 Summer, 2021 Fall, 2022 Winter and 2022 Summer terms. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation you replied. I will also allow you to drop POLS 319 (S21), POLS 259 (F21), POLS 244, POLS 262, POLS 317, POLS 385 (W22), PHIL 151 and WRIT 120 (S22) after the academic deadline, without having to submit a subsequent petition. Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Upon your return to studies, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes prior to the drop deadline of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
