I have carefully considered your petition to drop GNDS 280, GNDS 285, GNDS 326, GHNDS 530, RELS 236 (W24) and RELS 332 (F24) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this request due to the timeline and academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation you supplied. Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

I will also allow you to drop GNDS 320 (F24) as I recognize that this course was also impacted by the circumstances you described in your petition letter. If you want to accept this offer, please email asc.petitions@queensu.ca within 15 business days of receiving this letter.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Faculty of Arts and Science web page, have been established to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
