I have carefully considered your petition for Credit Standing in CISC 101, FILM 111, POLS 111 (F24) and CISC 102 (W25) and to DROP CISC 121 and COGS 100 (W25) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this request due to the academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation you supplied. I will also allow you to drop CISC 102 (F24) as I recognize that this course was also impacted by these circumstances. Your grades in these courses will be replaced with a CR or DR notation on your transcript accordingly.

Going forward, I would suggest that you consider registering with Queen’s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if you have not done so already, so that you obtain ongoing support from an Accessibility Advisor who can help manage the ongoing impacts of your health on your academics.

Also, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.
