Dear Ella:

I have carefully considered your petition for Credit Standing in CHEM 110 and MATH 124 (W25). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I recognize that the PSAC Local 901 strike and labor disruption had impacted these courses, and I have granted this request due to the academic impacts of extenuating circumstances as confirmed within the documentation you supplied. Your grade in these courses will be replaced with a CR notation on your transcript.

Going forward, it is the student’s responsibility to pause and evaluate the impact of extenuating circumstances on their classes before the drop deadline of the term. If they have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, they should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the “Important Dates” section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Dorit Naaman
Associate Dean (Academic)
