Dear Mr. Seeman:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GRMN 102 (W 2011), CISC 101, WRIT 125 (F 2011), FILM 110B, GRMN 102, HIST 261 (W 2012) and PHIL 115B (W 2015) as well as receive Credit standing in HIST 125B (W 2011), FILM 240 (F 2011), ENGL 100 (S 2014) and FILM 110B (W 2015). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. As a result of this decision, your academic record will be reassessed and the €œRequired to Withdraw for a Minimum of Three Years€ will no longer apply. You may now resume your studies at Queen's University.
I would like to note that I am essentially cleaning up your entire academic record from the time you started your undergraduate career until the present day. This is a very extraordinary action and I expect that over the course of this academic year, you will manage your health by seeking regular treatment and establishing a strong support network as well as monitoring your academic progress carefully and dropping courses as needed within the academic deadlines so you will not need to resort to using the appeals system again.
Upon returning to a regular course of study it is your responsibility to choose courses carefully, seek out the advice necessary to improve your academic performance, and maintain a GPA consistent with the requirements for successful completion of your plan. I hope that you will take advantage of the variety of support services available to you at Queen's. Academic counselling is available through an advisor in the Faculty of Arts and Science Student Services Office (main floor Dunning Hall, phone 533-2470) or through your plan department. The Learning Commons in Stauffer Library also provides a range of services, including workshops designed to improve study skills and develop strategies for meeting the demands of academic life. Further, the Student Wellness Centre located in the LaSalle Building at 146 Stuart Street (613-533-2506) offers personal and academic counselling free of charge to all Queen's students, as well as individual consultation to aid in coping with difficulties of a more personal nature.
If you have any questions about this decision, please feel free to contact the Faculty Office for advice or assistance. I wish you success in your future studies.
Yours sincerely,
Sue Blake
