Dear Mr. Marsh:

I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in STAT 263 (S 2015) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructor about the circumstances surrounding this course, I have decided to grant your appeal. Your grade in this course will appear on your transcript as CR.

I would like to note that this is a very lenient decision. You were well aware of your physical limitations before taking this course and there was a sufficient amount of time to determine whether or not your injury would interfere with your academic performance in it. The appeals system is not designed to compensate for extenuating circumstances that are ongoing in nature for which the student is unable or unwilling to resolve or effectively manage so any future appeals based on these same circumstances will not continue to be viewed favourably.

Finally, I would like to commend you on your decision to change academic Plans. Given your circumstances, this appears to be a wise decision.
