Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am petitioning to drop a class past the initial deadline. This class is HIST267 and I have had a great deal of difficulty meeting the requirements necessary to succeed in this class. I would have dropped it prior to the deadline but was unaware of how dire the situation was as marks were not released at that time. I want to drop this course because I am unsure that I will have the capability to pass the course, and even if I do it will not be a good grade in the course leading to a drop in my gpa. As well if there is the chance I am unable to pass the course I don??t want to have a failed course on my academic record. I worry that the stress of the situation until the end of the semester will further impact my mental health. This year I have struggled with an increased anxiety on campus due to an event last semester and it has made it difficult to go to class, and be on campus. Even though I have been working on it, this anxiety still takes a major toll on my everyday life including during the school day. I know anxiety is not an excuse for doing poorly in a class however it is a factor that leads to someone not always succeeding.
Please consider my request,
Kind regards
Cora Tee
