Petition Letter
Hello, I hope this request finds you well.
I am requesting to make my PHIL275 class a personal interest credit pass the deadline to make such a change. I never intended to make this class a personal interest credit until I received my midterm mark back yesterday (march 9th). The mark was lower than expected and as such I spoke with Vanessa McCourt (the Kinesiology academic advisor) about making it a personal interest credit. She informed me it is past the deadline and, having considered my situation, recommended I submit a petition. I am enrolled in kinesiology and so PHIL275 was for me a challenging and exciting opportunity learn outside my familiar field. This request is not an attempt to absolve the responsibility to apply myself in this enrolled class, but rather a honest request to have this class reflect the fact that I took it out of a personal interest of the subject and that the deadline to do so was not indicative of when I could make that decision realistically.
Thank you for your time and I hope you will consider this.
