Petition Letter
Dear Dr. Stephenson,
My name is Graham Lo, I am in first year Con-ed and arts and science. I am petitioning for a late withdrawal from biology after discussing my academic situation with one of the advisor. The reason I went to one of my academic advisors is because I have had an increasingly a difficult time this year with my studies. I find it very mentally challenging to deal with the transition into university and for whatever reason, I have withdrawn from all academic and social events this year. It started off well but, it has come to the point that I am very isolated and I have not attending a majority of my classes since December. Though I have been able to take some of my classes online, it is very clear by now that I will not pass biology since I have not been in class for months. I was just going to accept a fail, but I have been encouraged by my family and advisors to petition for a withdrawal.
I would like you to understand that this is not how I envisioned my academic process it is very disappointing to find myself in this situation. I feel that if I could finish this year I may be able to find the right help to try and make my next year more successful.
Thank you,
Graham Lo
