Academic Plan
To begin, it is not the content of my courses that I am struggling with, but the events that I have been struggling with, which has had a negative impact on my marks. My plan to continue at this school would be to be placed on academic probation. While it is difficult to plan for unpredictable events in life such as death within the family, I can plan to find strategies to better cope when these situations do occur. With that being said, I am willing to use queens resources including student wellness along with tutors incase these situations do arise again. I have also been seeking a therapist at Queen's to begin to prepare me incase this situation does occur. The transition to a different province and into university was not easy, but I am now surrounded by a support group and am comfortable in the Queen's community, I believe that the opportunity in my second year to redeem my marks will be effective. I plan to pursue med school at Queen's and complete my education here as I feel I belong here. It is important that I continue to be self aware and advocate for myself when I do feel I need accommodation; as I have throughout this academic year.
