Petition Letter
I took Philosophy of Mathematics as an elective thinking I would be able to get a respectable grade. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I will most likely get a very poor grade which would negatively impact my GPA.
I learned about Personal Interest Credits in late February so I submitted a PIC application on March 2nd before the deadline on March 3rd. I later received an email on March 9th from the Arts and Science Department which stated that my PIC application was submitted late. I then emailed evidence that I submitted the application on time. On March 20th, I received an email that stated the Arts and Science Department will not accept the application regardless of the evidence shown.
If I knew my PIC application would be denied, I would have dropped the course before the drop deadline on March 3rd. I now want to drop this course and I am looking for your approval to do so.
