Petition Letter
I would like to drop my winter semester courses and have multi-semester courses be designated as NG.
The stresses and anxiety I have been experiencing in addition to sleep phase delay (onset in December), have severely impacted my academic potential and performance. The nature of these difficulties have prevented me from going to classes, completing coursework, and anxiety-related avoidance behaviors toward these tasks. Even though I know I can complete the work, as I did complete work in the first semester, I couldn??t take the first steps to start the work at all this semester. I experienced extreme anxiety when attempting these tasks. I want to take the time and the effort to be able to address these issues before attending class and university in general.
I am currently steps to address these problems, such as attending counseling, taking medication, and evaluating my future plans. However, these solutions have not prevented the impact these problems have had on my academic performance. Therefore, I am hoping to drop courses in light of these extenuating circumstances.
