Petition Letter
During the course of the school year I suffered from acute anxiety and attention difficulties that resulted in severe academic difficulties and a recent academic probation. I have recently began discussing previously undiagnosed ADD and anxiety symptoms with my personal health care provider that may have reared their head throughout the year. With regards to my particular courses, my untreated inattention issues seriously impacted my ability to retain knowledge for courses such as linear algebra and calculus and limited my ability to consistently practice my skills as specified in the document from my family doctor. My anxiety was also a strong contributing factor to my academic ineffectualness as my inattentiveness fed indecisiveness and doubt in my ability which further stayed my academic progress. In the case of Academic Essay Writing, my anxiety and inattentiveness caused me to continually put-off assignments which resulted in my failure of the course. Generally during lectures I was unable to maintain a necessary level of focus due to sleep issues and overall inattentiveness issues. These particularly reared their head during exam periods, where I experienced overwhelming periods of anxiety that seriously impacted the rest of the year in the case of the fall term exam period in which the anxiety I experienced during that reduced my level of competency during the second term. I believe that my untreated psychological issues were a serious detriment towards my academic performance during the first year and that I should be offered some consideration and a better chance of doing well next year, as I will not be eligible for several automatic acceptances and pending lists as of now. It would also be a boon to my ongoing psychological treatment.
