Dear Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to submit a request to waive the petition deadline. I recently discovered a letter sent to my Queen’s University student email informing me that I must withdraw for one year from the Faculty of Arts and Science – effective May 1, 2023.
Unfortunately, the Outlook App on my iPhone did not update my emails, and only showed, “No Unread Messages”. I did not see the email on my Academic Standing that solus@queensu.ca sent me until now. I thought that I was in good Academic Standing with Queen’s University. But when I logged into my student email on my MacBook, I found the letter and realized that I had already missed the due date, June 13, 2023. I have attached copies of the screenshots I took of my Outlook App – it is logged in to my Queen’s University student email: 20asmr1@queensu.ca.
I would truly appreciate a chance to make a petition to waive the requirement to withdraw for one year. I have been a student my whole life - a huge part of my identity and something that I take great pride in. Being a female minority comes with a great set of challenges – education has always given me a sense of purpose in life. It is an absolute privilege and honour to be studying at Queen’s University. I hope you will consider my request to waive the petition deadline.
Sincerely,
Ajish Rajput
