Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean Dr. Jenn Stephenson,
I am writing to you regarding an academic petition to extend my Incomplete Grade for PHYS 372. I received this Incomplete Grade as I was unable to complete some course deliverables in the Winter 2023 semester. This summer, I have completed all my deliverables except for my final exam.
As part of my commitment to represent youth at a federal level with the Prime Minister’s Youth Council, I am required to attend meetings in Ottawa to engage with key stakeholders from August 26th - 30th. Unfortunately, due to late scheduling, this is in conflict with my PHYS 372 exam scheduled for August 30th.
Through continued communication with my professor, she has agreed to allow me to write the final exam in the Fall term. I have received my Request for an Excused Absence due to a Significant Event from Student Support Services, approved by the Dean of Student Affairs. I am requesting an extension of the Incomplete Grade so that I may write the final exam as soon as possible when I return. Please find all supporting documentation attached to this petition.
