Petition Letter
ANAT 101 - I recently completed this course and ended with a D-. I really enjoyed this course and found that it was very interesting. This course was mandatory as I am a Health Studies minor. However, I believe the final exam was very science based which I found to be very difficult considering that I do not have a science background. This really affected my mark and I would like to appeal for Credit Standing.
ECON 223 - I really enjoyed how the Professor made us keep up to date with current events. However, on the midterm there were articles inserted that were not given to us as readings. These articles had blanks we had to fill in. I do not believe regurgitation of an article is a fair representation of my knowledge learned throughout this course. Furthermore, on the final exam, one third of it was on black markets in Venezuela, which was not given to us as a reading, nor talked about in lecture. Thus, I do not believe this was a fair representation either. My mark dropped from a B to a D due to this exam. I discussed with my professor, however she said there was nothing I could do. I would like it to be considered that my mark remain what it was before the final exam, which I understand is possible considering the final exam was worth 45 percent. If, however this can not be done, I would like to appeal for Credit Standing.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Holly Makarchuk
